Abner Whittlesey 1746-1821
This history of the life of Abner Whittlesey was written by Natalie Jenkins Iafolla who is nine generations removed from Eliphalet Whittlesey, #42 in the 1992 W-W Genealogy, father of Abner. Abner, along with his brothers Lemuel, Martin, Asaph and his sister Anna, has been the subject of her historical reviews of their lives. Abner's life is unique in that it provides an insight into a difficult 14 year marriage and the life of a unconventional individual. Very well written.

Great incite into the wives of military men serving in the Revolutionary War and life in Litchfield County, Connecticut. Her husband was Major William Cogswell and his life is also portrayed.

Asaph Whittlesey 1753-1778
This history of the life of Lemuel Whittlesey was written by Natalie Jenkins Iafolla who is nine generations removed from Eliphalet Whittlesey, #42 in the 1992 W-W Genealogy, Father of Asaph. Asaph, along with his brothers Lemuel, Martin, Abner and his sister Anna, has been the subject of her historical reviews of their lives. This document is 37 pages in length and provides an outstanding history of the expansion to the west of Connecticut to the Wyoming Valley of what is now Pennsylvania. The buildup to the Battle of Wyoming in 1778 is described in great detail. It was during this battle that the very young, yet much accomplished, Asaph perished.
